Torque Testing Equipment FAQs

SecurePak sells high-quality torque testing products online at the most affordable prices. If you’re interested in learning more about the best torque testing equipment for bottle caps and closures, check out our most frequently asked questions below.

What is the difference between SecurePak’s torque testing tools?

  • The TorqTraq torque measurement tool, unlike the other testers, is hand-held and works by using interchangeable chucks that are specific to the closure type and size of the container being tested. For this tester, it is a requirement that our customers mail in samples of the containers attached to the caps that they’ll be testing in order to custom-make the appropriate chuck/s.
  • The Spring Torque Tester is our oldest machine, so it is free of any digital functions. It is ruggedly built to stand the test of time and should give long service without worry of maintenance or repair. The Spring Torque Tester is also available in 4 separate models in order to cover the range of cap sizes that are possible. Your cap manufacturer should be able to provide you with the information needed to pick the appropriate torque range.
  • The Digital Torque Tester is most similar to the Spring Tester in function, except it operates on a rechargeable battery or power supply and allows for more accurate readings. The Digital Torque Tester also covers the entire range of cap sizes (0-100 in.-lbs.)
  • The Computer Interface Torque Tester is essentially the same as the Digital Torque Tester outside of its ability to connect with a USB-compatible computer or printer.
  • The function of the Secure Seal Tester (SST) is to check for gas leaks by testing the seal integrity of glass or plastic containers that use aluminum roll-on seals, twist crowns, or plastic caps.

Can SecurePak Torque Testers Be Customized?

We have several customization options for our torque testers:

  • Teflon Finish: Certain torque testers are available with deluxe Teflon finish to ensure an anti-wear, stick-resistant surface.
  • Computer Interface Upgrade: If you’ve purchased a Spring Torque Tester or Digital Torque Tester in the past, we can convert it to a Computer Interface Torque Tester.
  • Custom Chucks: In addition to our standard TorqTraq chucks, we can create custom hand chucks for testing speciality closures.
